
CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women’s indoor track and field team earned a fifth place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association national championship this weekend in Cedarville, Ohio.
Indiana Wesleyan garnered 73 team points. Host Cedarville (Ohio) University won the meet with 164 points.
The 4 x 800-meter relay team won their event by almost 15 seconds. Team members were sophomore Annie Lehman, senior Chelsey Horkman, freshman Janelle Pierce and senior Brittany Perkins. The team finished in a time of nine minutes 56.27 seconds.
Freshman Katelin Morgan earned the only other top two finish for the Wildcats. She did so in the long jump with a mark of 18 feet 0.5 inches. Morgan also earned a third place finish in the 55-meter hurdles. She completed the race in a time of 8.82 seconds.
Indiana Wesleyan will next compete in the NAIA Nationals in Johnson City, Tennessee from March 6-8.
