CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Indiana Wesleyan University menís indoor track and field team has captured the National Christian College Athletic Association national championship held this weekend in Cedarville, Ohio.
Indiana Wesleyan survived the meet with a one point victory over Greenville (Ill.) College, 122-121.
The Wildcats were paced by five event winners.
Junior Josh Foss won a pair of events, breaking the NCCAA meet record in each. Foss earned the victory in the mile run in a time of four minutes 13.28 seconds. He also earned the individual championship in the 3,000-meter run in a finish of 8:38.17.
Senior Zach Weber won the high jump. He earned a mark of six feet eight inches. Weber won the event by 4 1/2 inches.
Junior Duran Brown earned the full 10 points for Indiana Wesleyan in the 55-meter dash. Brown finished in a time of 6.54 seconds.
The distance medley team won in a time of 10:23.52. The Wildcats earned an eight second victory.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to action at the NAIA national championship being held in Johnson City, Tennessee from March 6-8.
