
MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball team was well represented on the Mid-Central College Conference awards list.
Junior guard Antonio Murrell tops the list for the Wildcats with an All-MCC First Team selection. Murrell led the Wildcats during the regular season with a team-high 17.1 points. He also contributed 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Murrell shot 47.8-percent from the floor and 44.0-percent from 3-point land. Last season, Murrell was selected to the All-Conference Third Team.
Sophomore guard Spencer Harris was honored as the MCC Newcomer of the Year. The transfer recorded 12.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in addition to passing out a team best 3.3 assists. Harris started all 29 games for Indiana Wesleyan and averaged over 35 minutes per game.
Sophomore center Zach Coverstone earned MCC All-Conference Third Team. Coverstone poured in 11.2 points per game for IWU while leading the Wildcats with 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. He shot 55.7-percent from the floor. Coverstone was All-MCC Honorable Mention last season.
Junior guard Jon Moon was named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Moon scored 15.0 points per game and shot 41.8-percent from beyond the arc. Moon finished the regular season with a stellar 91.4-precent from the charity stripe.
Indiana Wesleyan completed the regular season with a 20-9 record.
The Wildcats earned the No. 4-seed in the MCC Tournament and will host No. 5-seed Taylor (Ind.) University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27 in Luckey Arena.
