MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University and Marion High School host the inaugural high school indoor track and field Wildcat-Giant Invitational on March 7-8 at the Indoor Sports Complex on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan.

The invitational will allow athletes to qualify for the Hoosier State Relays in Bloomington, Indiana.

Sixteen high school teams will be competing on Friday, March 7 and 24 teams will participate on Saturday, March 8. The meet will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night and 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Marion will compete on Friday and Saturday with Eastbrook, Mississinewa and Oak Hill all participating on Saturday.

Each day will have the following events: 3,200-meter run, 55-meter hurdles, 55-meter dash, 4 x 200-meter relay, 4 x 400-meter relay, 4 x 800-meter relay, distance medley, shot put, pole vault, long jump and high jump.

Price of admission is $4 for adult and $2 for children 18 years and younger.
