MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University seniors Lisa Thompson and Brooke Amstutz were named NAIA All-Americans on Tuesday night, according to the NAIA.
Thompson was selected to the NAIA All-American Second Team and Amstutz was designated as a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention. The tandem became the sixth and seventh women’s basketball student-athletes to earn NAIA All-American status under Indiana Wesleyan head coach Steve Brooks.
Thompson’s recognition as part of the second team is the second highest designation ever earned by an Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball student-athlete. Last year, Liz Howerth was chosen to the NAIA All-American First Team.
The only two seniors on the team this season, Indiana Wesleyan earned a final ranking of No. 11 in the national poll with a record of 28-6. The Wildcats advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the fourth consecutive season.
