
LONDON, Ky. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University golf team is 16th of 22 teams after the first round of the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate held in London, Kentucky at Crooked Creek Golf Club.
No. 9-ranked Lindenwood (Mo.) University leads the highly competitive tournament with a team total of 302, leading No. 23-ranked Ohio Dominican by one stroke. No. 9-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) University and No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College are tied for third with a score of 307. No. 15-ranked Malone (Ohio) College rounds out the top five with a 314.
The Wildcats first round tally was 333.
IWU senior Ben Brodhead had a strong performance during the opening day of the tournament. Brodhead shot an 18-hole score of 75 (37-38) on the 6,933-yard, par 72 course.
Sophomore Austin Conroy is tied for 18th with a 78 (41-37) and sophomore Joe Madda is tied for 78th after a first round score of 87 (44-43). Freshman Adlai Deisler rounds out the Wildcats score with a 93 (44-49).
Ohio Dominican’s Todd Suman leads play with a one-under par 71.
Final round play is scheduled for Friday.
