
Marion, IN (March 29, 2008) – The Indiana Wesleyan University baseball team won 2-1 and 8-2 today against Marian College in their Mid-Central College doubleheader.
The Wildcats (14-10, 7-3) were led by senior Shay Harden who was 2-for-3 with one RBI. The Wildcats’ second run of the game came from a hit by designated hitter senior Nicholas Millspaugh.
The Knights’ only run of the game resulted from a balk from junior pitcher Joshua Worrell.
In the second game IWU outscored Marian College by a score of 8-2. Standing out for the Wildcats’ was sophomore Ben Zachary who led the Wildcats offensively going 3-for-4. Senior pitcher Matt Burthay earned the win on the mound. He allowed two runs – one earned – over 6-1/3 innings. He stuck out six and scattered four hits.
The Wildcats continue MCC play as they travel to Marian College Tuesday, April 1, at 3:00 p.m.
