MARION, Ind. -- Lane Mahurin has been voted to the 2017 CoSIDA Men’s Basketball Academic All-District II Team. Mahurin is now eligible for Academic All-America honors which will be revealed on February 27.
Mahurin maintains a 3.48 GPA and majors in Finance at Indiana Wesleyan University. He also leads the Crossroads League with 20.4 points per game and is fourth in program history with 2,084 career points. Mahurin is a two-time NAIA All-American and has won two NAIA National Championships in three years at Indiana Wesleyan.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America honors are designed to recognize outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the court or field of competition. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have reached sophomore status academically, and have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
Indiana Wesleyan is 21-6 this season and 11-4 in the Crossroads League. No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan returns to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday vs. No. 18 Saint Francis (Ind.) in a 2016 national championship rematch in Luckey Arena.
