MARION, Ind. -- Maggie Hein has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her softball career at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Lenawee Christian High School senior was named All-County Second Team after she batted .400 during her junior season campaign with 16 doubles, 34 RBIs and 40 runs scored. She stole 31 bases and drew 13 walks.
“It will be great to have another quick infielder added to our team. Maggie will add speed and quickness both offensively and defensively to our program,” IWU head coach Sue Bowman said. “Signing two players from the same high school (IWU also signed Abbie Forman) will enable us to have more consistency quicker. Maggie comes from a strong softball program, and I expect her to be able to make the transition to college softball without missing a step.”
Hein is a versatile athlete as she also participated in track, basketball and volleyball during high school.
Off the field, Hein was a member of National Honor Society and was active in Big Brother Big Sister/Boys and Girls Club.
