Christi Church smacked three hits in game two.

XENIA, Ohio -- Indiana Wesleyan University and Cedarville (Ohio) University split a softball doubleheader on Friday afternoon in Xenia, Ohio.

Indiana Wesleyan lost the opening contest 8-7 in nine innings, despite out-hitting the host 11-8. The Wildcats struck back in a big way in the second game as IWU defeated Cedarville 10-2 in six innings. Indiana Wesleyan has now won six of their last seven games.

IWU junior shortstop Morgan Wheeler was 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles. Sophomore first baseman Molly Yothment and senior left fielder Stephanie Linette each clubbed two hits in four at bats.

The Wildcats (10-10) earned a 10-2 run rule victory in the second game to earn the decisive split.

Freshman Nicole Clark shut down the Yellow Jackets (10-12) as they only mustered two hits. Senior right fielder Christi Church tallied three hits and sophomore catcher Christy Gibson was a perfect 2-for-2. Linette added a double as IWU out-hit the host 8-2.

Indiana Wesleyan returns to action on Monday, April 7 as the Wildcats host Siena Heights (Mich.) University at the Outdoor Sports Complex.
