MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University football is already ahead of the curve when it comes to uniforms. The Wildcats unveiled two helmets that will be used when the team sees its first recruits on campus in August.

Indiana Wesleyan will be one of the few programs in the state of Indiana with two helmets. One helmet is anthracite and holds the IWU wordmark on both sides. The other helmet is platinum white and features a large metallic Wildcat head on one side while the opposite side will change periodically.

“The expectation at Indiana Wesleyan is to do nothing halfway and pursue every avenue of our life with excellence,” said head coach Jordan Langs. “We think these two helmets reflect our program’s commitment to excellence on and off the field.”

Indiana Wesleyan football showcased the two helmets on their Twitter account (@IndWesleyan_FB) Monday to high praise.

The Wildcats will have more than 60 student-athletes on campus during the 2017-18 season while the program begins intercollegiate competition in the 2018-19 season.

In typical @IWUWildcats fashion, we are doing it big! Doing what only a few in the state have done! #DoubleLids 😰⚪🔴 pic.twitter.com/DLnYDxGBu9
