SILVIS, Ill. -- Jake Coffey is +17 following the second round of play at the 2017 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

Coffey was 10-over par on Wednesday with a score of 81. After two rounds of play Coffey has a score of 159 (78-81). The afternoon session was postponed due to weather and no one was able to finish. Coffey is currently tied for 100th place.

“Jake had three close misses that cost him seven strokes today,” head coach Lorne Oke said. “That speaks to the precise nature of the course and the difficulty of the day. He bounced back his sophomore year at nationals to make the cut so hopefully he can do it again this year. It’s probably going to take an even par round which he’s capable of so we will see.”

The third round begins Thursday morning. The top 40 individuals following the third round will play the fourth and final round on Friday.
