MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University golf placed second of 12 teams at the Indiana Wesleyan Spring Invitational held at Meshingomesia Country Club.

The Wildcats trailed by 12 strokes after the first 18 holes of the tournament to Spring Arbor (Mich.) University. But a stellar 301 final round by Indiana Wesleyan was not enough as IWU (619) missed catching Spring Arbor (618) as the Cougars won the invitational by one stroke.

Sophomore Joe Madda led Indiana Wesleyan with a two-day total of 151, good for third place individually. Fellow sophomore Austin Conroy was three strokes behind with a 154 while freshman Adlai Deisler shot a 156.

Indiana Wesleyan returns to the links on April 14-15 as the Wildcats host the NAIA Classic at the Brickyard in Indianapolis, Indiana.
