MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women’s basketball has signed transfer Sarah McLimore from Maryville University. McLimore is a Covenant Christian graduate and joins the team for the 2017-18 season.

IWU women’s basketball head coach Ethan Whaley is looking forward to coaching McLimore this season.

“Sarah is a great addition to our program,” Whaley said. “She is a hard-working and gritty basketball player who makes the people around her better. Her toughness and ability to embrace physicality will have a significant impact on the floor.”

McLimore has put countless hours in the gym throughout high school and college to now get the chance to play in the Crossroads League, one of the top NAIA leagues in the country.

Indiana Wesleyan has won NAIA Division II National Championships in 2007 and 2013 and has been a mainstay at the national tournament in recent years.

That success is one of the things that attracted McLimore to Indiana Wesleyan. Along with the basketball tradition, the spiritual atmosphere the team brings on an off the court was a key factor in her decision to commit to IWU.

McLimore joins three freshmen newcomers to the IWU program as part of Whaley’s first recruiting class. The Wildcats tip off their season on October 31 at Cornerstone (Mich.).
