MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University and the Sutter Tennis Center play host to both the men’s and women’s tennis Crossroads League Tournament Championships on Saturday. Both matches begin at 11 a.m.

The Wildcats earned the No. 1-seed in the men’s and women’s championship tournaments with undefeated records during the regular season. The teams that win on Saturday earn the Crossroads League automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in May in Mobile, Alabama.

The IWU men defeated Bethel (Ind.) 9-0 on Tuesday and Goshen (Ind.) 5-0 on Thursday to reach the title match. Indiana Wesleyan faces No. 2-seed Marian (Ind.) in the championship match. IWU won the regular season tilt 6-3 on September 2. The Wildcats fells behind 2-1 after doubles play but rebounded with wins in five of six singles matches for the victory.

Meanwhile, the IWU women beat Bethel by a 9-0 score and then Taylor 5-1 to advance to Saturday play. Indiana Wesleyan hosts No. 3-seed Huntington (Ind.) in the championship match after upsetting No. 2-seed Marian in the semifinals. IWU won the first meeting of the season 8-1 over Huntington on September 19.
