INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The first day of the NAIA Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course is complete.

No. 6-ranked Berry (Ga.) College leads the field with a team score of 298, ahead of second place No. 14-ranked Texas Wesleyan University (302) by four strokes. No. 16-ranked Davenport (Mich.) University is third with 305 and No. 15-ranked Malone (Ohio) University is fourth at 307. Indiana Wesleyan rounds out the top five with a 308.

Other top-25 ranked programs competing at the Classic are No. 7-ranked Lindenwood University who is seventh with a 315, No. 17-ranked Shorter (Ga.) College who is tied for eighth with a 316, No. 11-ranked Saint Ambrose (Iowa) University is 11th with a 324 and No. 25-ranked William Woods (Mo.) University is 12th with a 325.

Berry's Jarrod Trammell tops all individuals with an even par 72 (36-36) after the first 18 holes. IWU senior Ben Brodhead is tied amongst a group of four in second place with a first day tally of 73 (36-37).

Sophomore Joe Madda and freshman Adlai Deisler are currently tied for 20th with a score of 78 (39-39). Sophomore Brandon Whitmire is tied for 28th with a mark of 79 (40-39) and sophomore Austin Conroy is tied for 34th with a round of 80 (40-40).

The final round of the Classic will be held on Tuesday, April 15.
