Marion, IN (April 22, 2008) – Indiana Wesleyan University pitcher Brandon Moore is ranked in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Top 30 in seven different pitching categories, and Major League Baseball scouts are noticing.

"When Brandon came here one of the goals he said he had was to play at the next level," said IWU head coach Mark DeMichael. "He has committed himself for four years to keep getting better and that is what he has done.

"Scouts are really impressed that his velocity and his command have increased every year. He just keeps getting better."

Moore, a senior from Crawfordsville, Indiana, has brought scouts from numerous professional baseball teams-including the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Anaheim Angels, Florida Marlins and Chicago Cubs-to the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in the spring of 2008.

The right-hander averages 12.9 strikeouts per nine innings, .174 opposing batting average and a 1.44 ERA.

"This year I've felt a lot more confident," Moore said. "Being able to play in the Texas League [with Athletes In Action] boosted my confidence level to come back and just dominate here.

"This year I have 90 strikeouts compared to last year when I had 78, and the season isn't over yet. I've kept my ERA down quite a bit too along with the opponent's batting average. I'm pretty happy with what has been happening on the mound this year."

The Wildcats (24-18, 17-11) conclude regular season play against Indiana Tech on Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m.
