MARION, Ind. -- David Lopez-Cepero of the Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer team is playing in the Premier Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) this summer.
Graduate and forward on the 2007 Wildcats, Lopez-Cepero is competing for the Cincinnati Kings of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The PDL is the top U23 men's amateur league in North America with 67 teams for the 2008 season. The league is the proving ground for players that aspire to reach the highest-levels of the game. The PDL is one of six levels in the USL, which is the largest organization of elite-level soccer leagues in North America. Teams participate in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
Teams take part in a 16 game schedule, highlighted by participation in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Indiana Wesleyan graduates J.P. Bratcher (Cascade Surge) and David Reed (Kalamazoo Outrage) are also playing in the PDL this season.
