ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Indiana Wesleyan University junior John Bowman earned a fourth place finish in the hammer throw at the NAIA Track and Field National Championships on Thursday in St. Louis, Missouri.
In a day dominated by track preliminaries, Bowman earned five points for the Wildcats as field events competed in finals competition.
Bowman's throw of 186 feet 11 inches garnered the fourth place finish. Greg Schultz of Concordia (Ore.) University captured the event championship in a toss of 207-4 feet.
The national meet will continue through Saturday.
