MARION, Ind. -- Megan Marshall of the Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer team was named the first NCCAA Player of the Week for the week ending August 31, according to the NCCAA.
Marshall is a sophomore defender from Elgin, Illinois. The honor is the first of her career.
For the week, Marshall tallied four goals and one assist as the Wildcats opened the 2008 season with two road victories. Marshall scored a goal and assisted on another in a 5-1 win at Campbellsville (Ky.) University. At Asbury (Ky.) College, Marshall recorded a hat trick in a 7-1 victory.
Indiana Wesleyan is 2-1-0 this season and is ranked No. 18 in the NAIA.
The Wildcats return to the field at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, as Indiana Wesleyan travels to play at Cedarville (Ohio) University.
