MARION, Ind. -- An impressive opening to the 2008 season has allowed the Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer team to move up to No. 16 in the first NAIA Top-25 poll, according to the association. The poll was released on Tuesday.

Indiana Wesleyan was 2-1-0 at the time the poll was released, up two spots from No. 18 in the preseason poll. IWU competed on Tuesday night and defeated Cedarville (Ohio) University 3-1 to improve to 3-1-0 on the season.

The Wildcats lone loss this season has come to No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College.

Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College, last season's national champion, remains at the top of the poll with 15 of 23 first place votes and 640 total points. Indiana Wesleyan chimes in with 310 points and is the only Mid-Central College Conference member in the Top-25.

Indiana Wesleyan returns to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, as the Wildcats travel to play Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.
