
KENOSHA, Wis. -- In the 31 team Lucian Rosa Invitational on Saturday afternoon the Indiana Wesleyan University women's cross country team earned a third place finish.
The Wildcats tallied 185 points for third place despite not placing a runner in the top-20. Ferris State (Mich.) University won the event with 98 points behind their top two runners in the top-10. No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech was runner-up with 159 points.
No. 12-ranked Indiana Wesleyan was led by sophomore Melissa Morgan. She placed 23rd overall in 19 minutes and 10 seconds over the 5,000-meter course.
Sophomore Cassidy Wagner ended in 40th and junior Kailee Whitaker was 41st as both completed the run in 19:34. Senior Christine Bea ended the race 48th in 19:45 with freshman Rebekah Bentle rounding out the Indiana Wesleyan scoring in 51st with a time of 19:48.
Shorter (Ga.) College sophomore Justyna Mudy was first of 316 runners in 17:26.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the course at 12 noon on Saturday, October 25, as the Wildcats participate in the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
