MARION, Ind. -- Senior Bryan Hazel and junior Kailee Whitaker of the Indiana Wesleyan University cross country teams each won the NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honors for their performance in the past week.

The honor is the first this season for Hazel and Whitaker.

Hazel finished 12th out of 228 runners at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He finished the 8,000-meter race in a time of 25 minutes 38 seconds. The Wildcats finished eighth of 22 teams.

Whitaker completed the 5,000-meter course at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in a time of 18:59. She was 21st out of 213 runners and paced the Wildcats to a fourth place finish out of 20 teams.
