The Wildcats defeated the Cedarville Lady Yellowcats at Cedarville 1-0 on the 13th as they raised their season match record to 6-2. The score was the only thing close as IWU moved the ball at will and put 10 shots on goal to Cedarville's 1. The score was 0-0 at halftime as the Wildcats shot several times but put few on frame. In the second half, Bethany Brueggen entered the game with 28 minutes to play and energized the team. In 12 minutes she took 3 shots including the game winnner with 16:50 to play. Claire Comerouski had made a forward run into the box and passed to Brueggen. The sophomore forward one timed past the keeper for the game winner. The Lady Yellow Jackets were thwarted by the impressive defensive effort of IWU in the second half as they failed to register any shot attempts. Indiana Wesleyan, ranked 23rd in the current NAIA poll, made a small but significant change in their back three alignment which produced great defensive support for each other and also allowed for them to go on attack quicker. Cedarville had previously beaten 2 of the MCC teams as they came into the match with a 5-1 season slate. The Wildcats return home and face Indiana Tech on Friday night at 7:00 pm. This game renews the rivalry after a 4 year hiatus.
