UPLAND, Ind. (Results) -- The Indiana Wesleyan University indoor track and field team had a productive day on Saturday afternoon at the Taylor Invitational in Upland, Indiana.

Indiana Wesleyan gained three automatic qualifiers for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships. The women had one and the men received two.

The 4 x 800-meter relay team of Cassidy Wagner, Laura Dziagwa, Heidi Forgeng and Amanda Johnson beat the qualifying standard with a time of 9:43.74 to produce a trip to the nationals. The team placed first in the event.

For the men, a relay team and an individual also automatically qualified for the NAIA meet.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Josh Foss, Eric Brown, Bryan Hazel and Ethan Naylor qualified with a finishing time of 10:24.17. The team won the event by 20 seconds.

Foss also qualified as an individual in the one mile run. He won the event in a time of 4:18.22.

The 4 x 800-meter relay team of Foss, Dan Carrick, Josh Schweigert and Bryan Hazel won and broke a track record as they finished in 8:08.17. Duran Brown won the 55-meter dash in 6.56 seconds and Carrick raced to the 600-meter win in 1:24.17.

Katelin Morgan secured a pair of provisional qualifiers for the NAIA in the 55-meter hurdles and the long jump. She finished the hurdles in 8.74 seconds and had a mark of 5.38-meters in the long jump.

Cassidy Wagner won the 600-meter run in 1:40.37.

Indiana Wesleyan will next race at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 14 as IWU hosts the Wildcat Invitational.
