JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University softball team upended host Lambuth (Tenn.) University 11-7 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader in Jackson, Tennessee. Mother Nature won game two with a cancellation.
Freshman Abbie Forman and junior Molly Yothment paced the Wildcats in victory as each collected two hits and clubbed a home run. Overall, the Wildcats collected 14 hits.
Senior Morgan Wheeler and freshman Tamara Davis each swatted a pair of hits and a double. Junior Christy Gibson smacked three hits as Indiana Wesleyan now stands at 2-1 on the season following a weekend in Tennessee.
The second game of the twin bill was canceled due to weather conditions. Temperatures were below 40-degrees with lightning and rain in the area. The game will not be made-up.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to action at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida from March 2-7.
