INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S TENNIS 2009 FALL SEASON SUMMARY
The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team had another outstanding fall regular season. The Wildcats compiled an 8-0 Mid-Central College Conference record with an overall record of 11-0. IWU outscored their opponents 89-9 in dual matches.
Indiana Wesleyan stretched their consecutive win streak during the fall regular season to 182 matches dating back to 1995. The overall record for IWU is now 326-31 since the women's tennis program was restarted in 1991.
The Wildcats won the MCC championship for the 18th consecutive year and also won the flighted MCC Tournament with 21 out of a possible 27 points. Lisa Massey, Andrea Meyering and Eva Delk were selected to the MCC All-Conference Team. Conference tournament champions were Eva Delk (No. 3-singles), Lauren Wilson (No. 4-singles, No. 2-doubles), Courtney Kooyers (No. 5-singles, No. 3-doubles), Caitlin McGuire (No. 6-singles, No. 3-doubles) and Andrea Meyering (No. 2-doubles).
In the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Tournament, Meyering earned runner-up in the singles consolation finals. In doubles, Meyering and Wilson advanced to the semifinals in the main draw where they lost to the eventual champions.
IWU will play a spring season of 13 matches to help prepare for two national tournaments. The NCCAA and the NAIA will both be held in May at the Copeland-Cox Tennis center in Mobile, Alabama. This will be the Wildcats 13thconsecutive trip to the NAIA National Championship.
