
The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team had another outstanding year by compiling a final record of 25-4 and a NAIA national ranking of No. 15.
The Wildcats won various tournaments during the year, including the Mid-Central College Conference, NAIA Region VIII and the NCCAA national tournament. In April, Indiana Wesleyan hosted the NAIA Region VIII tournament and defeated Marian (Ind.) College 8-1 in the final match to advance to the NAIA national tournament. In May, IWU hosted the NCCAA national tournament and defeated Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University 5-4 in an exciting final match.
The following week, the NAIA national tournament was held in Mobile, Alabama where the Wildcats defeated No. 18-ranked Lewis-Clark State (Id.) College 5-4 to advance to the round of 16. The next day, Indiana Wesleyan's season ended with a 5-0 loss to No. 2-ranked Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University, who eventually finished as runner-up in the national tournament.
