Larry Hinshaw has over 16 years experience coaching volleyball at the collegiate, high school, camp and club levels in which he has helped develop and train players to reach their full potential. 

 

Hinshaw returns for his third season as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he has been involved in all phases of the Wildcat Volleyball program with focuses on offensive coordinator, setter training, recruiting, strength and conditioning, scouting, and on-court strategy.

 

From 2001-2004, Hinshaw served as the Southern Wesleyan University Head Volleyball Coach.  During his tenure, the Warriors achieved a regular season conference title, which allowed the program to achieve its first appearance in school history playing in the NAIA Region XIII finals, placing second.  In his four years he coached eight academic All American's and several All Conference and All Region selections, including one Regional Player of the Year.  Hinshaw was also named Conference Coach of the Year in 2002.

 

From 1999-2000, Hinshaw spent two years as assistant coach at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama.  During his coaching stint, he was instrumental in taking a team that was 7-31 the previous year to a runner-up finish in the 1999 TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament with a first-time appearance in the Region XI Tournament.

 

A 1997 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, Hinshaw received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.  He served as a student assistant to the women's volleyball program for three years as well as an assistant coach for one year.  He also served in an assistant role for the tournament director in the 1997 NAIA Volleyball National Championship.

 

His resume includes coaching at collegiate-level volleyball camps, including Michigan State, University of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Purdue.  He has also served as a head coach for Clemson-Foothills Volleyball Club (2002-03), Alabama Juniors (1999-01), Divers Volleyball Club (1996-99), and Club director and coach for Cornerstone Volleyball Club (2007).
