MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team has announced the signing of Kate Denlinger to a NAIA letter of intent for the fall of 2008.

“The Denlinger family has been in my life for 13 years,” stated IWU head coach Candace Moats. “As I have watched Kate mature as a person and volleyball player since third grade, she has shown a great work ethic and dedication to becoming an excellent student-athlete, as well as a beautiful Christian woman. We look forward to Kate joining the Wildcats.”

Denlinger was a four year letterman in volleyball for Warsaw Community High School. She was named All-NLC for two seasons and All-Northeast Indiana Second Team her senior season. Denlinger earned Most Valuable Player this season for her team.

The Warsaw, Indiana native was also a standout basketball player in high school. Denlinger was an All-Conference selection and holds the school record with 23 rebounds in a single game.

In addition to her success on the court, Denlinger is accomplished in the classroom as well.

Denlinger is ranked second in her class of 495 at Warsaw while being a member of the National Honor Society. She was named to the All-Academic State Team for volleyball and basketball.

Indiana Wesleyan finished the season 37-9 en route to capturing their sixth consecutive Mid-Central College Conference tournament championship.
