Kelsey Masuda has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Indiana Wesleyan University beginning in the fall of 2008.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Masuda attended Christian Academy in Tokyo, Japan.

“We are excited about Kelsey joining the Wildcat volleyball team because of her athleticism, hard work and desire,” said IWU head coach Candace Moats. “Kelsey has a wide variety of volleyball skills which allows her to contribute in any role she is given. We look forward to seeing how Kelsey will leave her mark on the IWU volleyball program.”

Masuda is a versatile player who can play outside hitter, setter and defensive specialist. She has earned two All-Star awards and a co-most valuable player during high school.

She also played club volleyball for Cuzins in Hawaii. Masuda competed in the Far East Tournament with teams participating from all over Asia. During her senior season, her team won the championship while Masuda was named tournament most valuable player.

Indiana Wesleyan finished 2007 with their sixth straight MCC tournament championship.
