Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball and head coach Candace Moats are pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Quackenbush to the Wildcats' roster. The 5-9 outside hitter resides in Naperville, Illinois and will graduate from Neuqua Valley High School.

Quackenbush will add depth and experience to the roster at the outside hitting position. She comes to Indiana Wesleyan in the fall with several years of club experience at Sports Performance and currently competes with First Alliance 18 White. She tallied the most digs in a match with 26 earlier this season and led the team in total kills.

During her high school years, Quackenbush has started two years on varsity and has been a two-time letter winner as an outside hitter for the Neuqua Valley Wildcats. In her 2009 season she was unanimously named UEC All-Conference First Team, Daily Herald All-Area Team Honorable Mention, named Top 50 in the state of Illinois, All-State Honorable Mention and All-City First Team. "Rachel will bring high-level skill to our team," said Moats. "She is extremely athletic with her explosive arm swing and vertical jump. I expect her to raise our level of play. She also is a competitor who loves to win and push her teammates to get better. She is a great addition to the Wildcats."

Outside of athletics, Quackenbush has been involved with her church and youth group. She has traveled to Mexico to build homes for families in poverty. Her experiences of serving others will add to the strong team cohesiveness the Wildcats pride themselves in.

Welcome Rachel, as well as her parents, Robin and John, to the 2009 Indiana Wesleyan University Volleyball family.
