Katie Honeycutt has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall of 2009.
Honeycutt is a four year letterman at Wabash High School in Wabash, Indiana.
The middle hitter was named All-Three Rivers Conference First Team for three years, All-County for four years and team Most Valuable Player once. Honeycutt also excelled in tennis and baseball as she totaled 11 varsity letters in high school.
"Katie has a true passion to play volleyball. After her tryout at IWU the whole coaching staff said, ‘wow' what great potential," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. "She is tall, with long arms, which allows her to be a big blocking force at the net, as well as, giving her the ability to reach high on the attack."
"I think we will see a different Katie Honeycutt each year she competes in the program. We are excited she has chosen to continue her volleyball career at IWU."
Indiana Wesleyan completed 2008 as Mid-Central College Conference Tournament champions and earned the program's first ever berth to the NAIA National Championships.
