Lauren Wilson has signed a letter of intent to continue her tennis career at Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall of 2009.
Wilson is from Middletown, Indiana and is a senior at Shenandoah High School. She has played the No. 1-singles position the past three years.
Last season as a junior she advanced to the individual singles semi-state and made All-State Singles Honorable Mention. She was selected as the Athlete of the Year by the Muncie Star Press and has been awarded the Most Valuable Player of her team all three years.
This season as a senior, Wilson is playing No. 1-doubles with her sister Katie, a freshman on the team. They presently have a 15-0 record and hope to advance to the state tournament.
Indiana Wesleyan head coach Terry Porter says, "Lauren will be a major addition to our team. She brings a lot of experience in both singles and doubles not only in high school, but also in USTA tournaments. She plays year round and has made tennis her primary extracurricular activity for the past six years. We are excited that she is coming to Indiana Wesleyan."
Indiana Wesleyan had a 23-3 record this year and earned a national ranking of No. 16 in the NAIA.
