Aaron Martin, out of Rossville, Indiana, has recently become the first member of the Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball team's 2009 recruiting class.
Martin is a 6-5 guard who is known for his shooting ability. As a junior at Rossville High School, Martin averaged 22.2 points per game while hauling in 7.7 rebounds per game. Martin shot 46-percent for the year and had seven double-doubles.
For these efforts, Martin was named to the All-Hoosier Heartland Conference Team for the second year in a row. ScoutingIndiana.com calls Martin, "arguably the best shooter in the 2009 class," and ranks him as the seventh best shooting guard in the state.
"We are extremely excited about the recent commitment from Aaron Martin," said Wildcats head coach Greg Tonagel. "Aaron represents everything that we desire both on and off the court. He truly embodies the 'I Am Third' attitude of putting God first, others second and ourselves third that we desire to instill in our program."
Martin is an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene's youth group and currently holds a 3.8 grade point average.
