Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball has recently received a commitment from Patrick Hopkins of Kokomo High School.

Hopkins is a 6-7, 230 pound forward and is the second member of the Wildcats' 2009 recruiting class. Hopkins was named to the prestigious Junior Indiana All-Star team after a stellar junior season in which he averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game in one of the top conferences in Indiana.

Hopkins was named first team all-conference in the North Central Conference, which includes such powers as Marion, Muncie Central, Anderson and New Castle. His highly versatile game allowed him to finish his junior season in the top ten in the conference in 10 statistical categories, including first in rebounds and blocks.

"We are extremely excited to add a post player of Patrick's abilities to our team," says Coach Greg Tonagel. "He is a very skilled player who can defend, rebound, pass and score. Patrick fits in well with our program both on and off the court."

Hopkins joins 6-5 guard Aaron Martin of Rossville, Indiana in IWU's recruiting.
