Indiana Wesleyan University men's golf received its first commitment for the fall of 2010 in Oak Hill High School senior Zach Kinch.
The Grant County native is excited to be able to continue his career in the area in front of his family and friends.
"The growth of the University, being able to continue my career in the local area, and the fact that IWU places Christ in the center of everything were all factors in my decision," said Kinch.
Kinch is a three-time All-Conference performer in the Central Indiana Conference and won the conference title in 2009. He credits his family, teammates, and coaches with his accomplishments, citing their encouragement and instruction as contributing factors for his success on the links.
"Zach has been a great high school player and has won several tournaments. His passion for the game will allow him to grow as a golfer at IWU," says Indiana Wesleyan head coach Steve Evans. "He is a great young man who fits into our program and his grounded in his Christian faith."
Kinch will pursue a degree in business management at Indiana Wesleyan.
The IWU men's golf team will open their spring season on March 25-26 at the Southeastern Kentucky Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Kentucky.
