Parker Stouffer, a 6-8 and 250 pound post player, has signed a letter of intent to be a part of the Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball program beginning in the 2010-2011 season.

As a junior, Stouffer averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds a game last season for the Southwood Knights, who finished 14-8. Stouffer shot 64-percent from the field and 74-percent from the free throw line. Stouffer also set the school record for both single game and blocked shots in a single season last year. He finished with nearly 90 blocks on the year and reached double-digit blocks in a few games. In the July 2008 edition of rankings of ScoutingIndiana.com, Stouffer was ranked as the third best center in the state.

"We are extremely excited about the addition of Parker to our basketball team," says Indiana Wesleyan head coach Greg Tonagel. "He fits in extremely well with our team both on and off the court. He is skilled, has great size and is a hard worker. We feel that with hard work, the sky is the limit for Parker's career at IWU!"

Stouffer was an important piece to the Wildcat's recruiting puzzle, as they graduate 6-9 All-American center Zach Coverstone, who after three years has the school's three highest single season records in blocked shots and also has the school record in total shots blocked. "Coverstone has been such a staple of our program," says Coach Tonagel. "We are hoping Parker can fill a little of that void."

Indiana Wesleyan University is coming off of a 29-7 season that saw the Wildcat's tie for their second MCC Regular Season Championship in three seasons as well as making their second trip to the Elite 8 in the NAIA National Tournament in three years. Stouffer is the first signee for Indiana Wesleyan for the 2010 class.
